TE Technology was founded in 1989 and manufactures our cooling assemblies at our facility in Traverse City, Michigan. We are both ISO 9001 registered and ITAR registered. We have an in-house machine shop, which keeps manufacturing under our control. We have our own heat sink extrusion tooling for making heat sinks optimized for demanding thermoelectric applications while minimizing assembly time and expense. TE Technology also designs and manufactures its own thermoelectric test equipment for device testing at the material, module, and assembly levels. This equipment and our tested procedures ensure quality and let you harness our infrastructure, saving you time and money.

Air Coolers

Air coolers, sometimes called air-to-air heat exchangers, are the best choice for cooling electrical enclosures and refrigerated cabinets containing objects that can not be easily cooled by direct contact to a cold plate. There may be irregularly shaped components, parts that need freedom to move, or objects that do not have any one good surface from which to remove heat. While not as efficient as the direct contact of a cold plate, air coolers are ideal in these cases because the cooled air adapts to any and all shapes within the cabinet.

Cold plate coolers are usually the best method of cooling an object when the object can be attached directly to the cold plate. The direct contact allows the heat to be efficiently conducted to the thermoelectric (Peltier) modules. This keeps the system operating as efficiently as possible and improves the stability and accuracy of temperature control. The cooling surface is machined flat for optimum thermal transfer, with threaded holes for easy attachment of the object to be cooled.
